Intermediate Designers
Phoenix Building
Components is a leading truss manufacturer and
distributor of engineered wood products and
light gauge steel trusses. Our manufacturing
plants are located in New Lowell Ontario.
Due to continued success and growth we are
looking for experienced designers to work in our
Barrie Design Team. The ideal candidate has a
background that includes; graduation from a
Civil, Mechanical or Architectural Technician or
Technologist Program with Autocad 2000 or Level
14, a minimum of 2-3 years experience in roof
truss design, wall panels or building
construction, coupled with a solid understanding
of engineered floor system design and layout.
You must possess good communication skills, a
strong work ethic and be detailed orientated.
Responsibilities: You will be reporting to the
Design Manager and receive quotes from the sales
offices, ensure we have plant ready designs,
supply accurate lay-outs to contractors,
and provide technical advise to contractors and
suppliers.

Roof Truss and Floor Designer
A truss manufacturing company in Durham Region
is actively seeking an experienced full-time
roof truss and floor designer.
Applicant must have a minimum 2 years specific
experience designing roof and floor trusses .
Experience with Alpine or Mitek engineering
software.
Familiar with Ontario Building codes ,
BCIN # would be an asset.
Experience with residential and commercial floor
and roof trusses.
Individual will be responsible for preparing
structural designs from drawings and
architectural plans for engineering as well as
analyzing designs and recommend appropriate
construction designs and materials. Compute
stress load and tolerance, and ensure that
designs meet proper building code and
guidelines. Interact with sales reps as well as
customers
Be available to do onsite measurements if deemed
necessary
Meet construction deadlines and constraints.
Applicant will be a motivated team player and
work well under pressure
